a change of pace…
ahhhh!!! it’s summer. did you hear me sigh? i am seriously loving my new change of pace. in the summer, i slow way down. sleep in. make chocolate pancakes in my pj’s. paint. i am loving it!
i turned 36 on monday. i feel more settled. full. happy. i would have blogged about my birthday, but i was too busy enjoying it. cherishing it. we celebrated all weekend. brunch. pedicure. dinner with friends. first night out without the baby. it was fabulous!!!
eva had two major milestones yesterday. she rolled over from back to tummy. she is not even four months. they aren’t supposed to do that until they are like six months. but this girl wants to go, go, go… she also full on laughed yesterday. it was the best ever!!! this baby is so happy and i love it. she smiles at complete strangers. love her. she also loves to talk. and gets grumpy only because she wants a change of scenery. oh, and she loves going places. she can be crying for an hour, and as soon as i put her in the car seat, she is one happy girl. i am loving this stage.
i want to get into my studio as much as possible this summer. and i knew i needed a way to get my girlies in there with me. so i set up work stations at my big art table. i taped out their own individual work areas. they have to stay in their own work area. today they got to paint on canvases, but i will have other things for them to do. if you know any fun kids crafts that are easy, let me know.
i just finished this piece last week, and put it in my room. love it!
and here is the piece sitting on my studio table today. love where it’s going…
i might not be here much this summer. i have a lot of creating to do. paintings to paint. life to be lived. children to enjoy. i hope you will do the same.
Really nice.
wow, I love the new piece. I want to try this style but can’t help to paint it first in one whole color (canvas) before adding other colors. I’m going have to let go and just give it a try. I love it. I can’t wait to see it when its finish. enjoy your summer. π
Your self-portrait is just lovely. π And I can’t wait to see where your second piece goes! (Kerry Bogert pointed me in your direction!)

Beauty out of Ashes…THank you for sharing your story and for being a hope to others. Your work is an extension of God’s Goodness and Grace. Bless you!
Love love love.. Those last ones you are working on are divine. So glad I found you. Your art makes me smile inside & out π
