patterns

September 15, 2012

last week i mentioned that i am taking the art and business of surface pattern design right now. these first patterns are fairly simple ones, i imagine they will get a little more complex as we go on. but i am loving how this workshop is really allowing me to take my art to the next level. it is changing the way i see everything that i do. so i have been scanning elements of my drawings and then layering them in photoshop. i am having so much fun. the last one on here is not a pattern but a print that i did for this collection. i am thinking about making it available as a print in etsy. i would really love to hear what you think of my patterns.

The feathers is my favorite! Followed closely by the rain drops 🙂 I have been drawing feathers a lot lately, they are so much fun.

these are truly amazing… i love the apricot and plums! it is so cool how layering you patterns from your art work makes this work. apricot and plums is SO YOU, but yet a bit more sophisticated version of your style. whimsy with a touch of class!! i so see that pattern being used in fabric for fashion or decorating. keep going with it…. its a WOW!!!
