color 101

i am so excited to share with you today the beginning videos for my color 101 series. it’s going to be like a mini e-course where i will be sharing with you some of my intuitive color layering tips. i often have students who ask me how to layer color in a way that isn’t going to make a big brown mess. there is an art to layering colors in your art journals and artwork. and i hope these videos help those of you who struggle with this. i go through my thought processes in why i choose certain colors and why i choose certain mediums when i am layering my pages with color.

let me know if you have any questions!!!

ahhhh~ so much fun to sit and watch and learn. these videos were very helpful to me. thank you for taking the time to make and post them on the blog!!! i have a question about the shiva paint stiks… do they smear onto the opposing pages when the book gets closed? what do you think happens with oil pastels? does rubbing and blending help? can you seal over with mod podge? thanks again wendy.

great question ann! it takes a day or two for the paint stiks to dry all the way. so put a piece of wax paper in between your pages for a few days. and yes you can seal it with mod podge but i imagine it still takes a while to dry. i haven’t really had it smear before but i can see how it might.
