commission piece
i finally finished my commission piece that has been sitting in the background of my videos forever. i have been working on it for over six months. yikes! it is a piece for my friend’s home. it really took me forever to create. creating a piece that fits a person, goes in their home and stays within your own style… wow, that is very difficult!!! might truly be the most difficult piece i have ever created. but i wasn’t willing to compromise and just make a mediocre painting. i fought with it forever, trust me. and i am so glad that i did. i love the end product and i hope she does too.
i loved making a painting for someone that i knew so well. i embedded the words to a song that is very close to her heart in the painting. i also stuck the number 19 for her anniversary. it was so much fun adding these little surprises for her.
i am going to deliver the painting to her this afternoon, but i just couldn’t wait to show you. it’s a huge painting but i wish you could see it close up. there are so many fun texture details.
Love it!!!
It’s a really cool piece. It combines edgy, bold with the softness of the flower.
absolutely beautiful, Wendy!
a masterpiece is worth waiting for~
thanks deborah!
That is so pretty.I love art that has meaning in it.Your friend will love it.
Good for you – I can totally relate. I have a commission request too from last year, and I just struggle so much with trying to develop a concept that suits them and that I think they will love. Really they just want to collect/support their friends’ art, so I shouldn’t worry so much. Your finished piece has great composition and unity.
