look what is going out in the mail today! i am so excited. one of my goals for this year is to become a published artist. i have been working hard on this altered book for some time now. it actually feels like forever, but i know it has only been a few months. i think i started on it some time this last fall. for a while, it felt like it would never be done. like some far away goal i could never achieve.
then there is the matter of submission guidelines. i think i have read the stampington submission page 100 times. no joke. i am sure it gets easier though the more times you submit your work. but there were moments i felt like i was reading a different language. and then i kept getting cloth paper scissors mixed up with stampington. oh geese! you get the idea.
this week i have been putting together all of the last minute details. i completely redid a few pages that were bothering me. i couldn’t let it go.
i even decorated the box, something i learned from kelly rae’s class this summer. i love the idea that as soon as my package arrives at the magazine, all eyes will be glued to the box. the package just says open me, doesn’t it? oh wait, maybe that is because i wrote open me on it. i would want to open it! and i love the fact that a plain old cardboard box can be art.
all i have left to do now is get the cash for return shipping.
