how do you eat an elephant?

how DO you eat an elephant? it’s simple, one bite at a time. these last few days i have been swimming in my own ideas. i always have so many, and not enough time to do them. i started to get overwhelmed. it’s not easy being a paint from home mom. there is always something that gets sacrificed, and most days my creative goals get moved to the back burner. lofty goals like getting published, getting my wholesaling up and running, getting my prints into different shops, oh the list goes on and on. the elephant seems so humongous at times and one bite so tiny.

so i have decided to break down my goals into bite size pieces. it’s all about baby steps. for example, i was getting totally overwhelmed by the project i wanted to start for publication. so I decided to break it up and do a little bit every day. this way, the project does not seem so daunting and actually possible. so here i go, and i actually finished what i wanted for today. yay! when i am done with this goal, i can move onto the next one.

big sigh of relief! elephant, you really are not so big.

No, elephant, you really aren’t! Breaking things down into manageable chunks have totally saved my sanity.

Yep…my elephant is ginormus, and I have no idea how to even take the first bite. Breaking it down is clearly the only way to go about it, but seriously? Even that seems daunting sometimes.

    Love that painting!

Bite size pieces are the only way to get most anything done when you are a paint at home mom. I am right there with you Wendy.
