ready for my close up
week 33 of 52 weeks: close up. morning friends! this week i am supposed to share a close up of my paintings. i thought i would share a few.
i am loving using my india inks right now. one of my favorite things to do is blow the ink all over the page to get this effect. it is totally random and messy. i love it!
i love the texture in this painting. you can really see it in this close up. i created this texture by spreading paint with an old credit card. i also used clothing patterns to create even more texture and dimension.
i love the pattern in this painting. i used a potato stamp and i love the pattern it created. Again you can see how much texture is in one of my paintings. i love using multiple layers of paint and paper to create that texture.
I love the texture in your paintings! I have this sudden urge to touch it.
yeah a lot of people who see them in person want to touch. 🙂
Love the way you combine different types of textures and sometimes it’s a small part that my eyes keep wandering back to. Like the notes in the last painting or the handwriting in the first one. It’s like rediscovering a wall that’s several hundred years old, and finding a new painting on top of it.
that is what i love about mixed media. there are so many different layers that you can notice something new every time you look at a painting.
I love how you’ve showed us the textures in your painting and also what you used to make the textures. I find this so interesting and beautiful!
thanks kristi!
love the layering and the bright lively colours!!!
