i am of the opinion that having a beautiful home does not have to cost a fortune. don’t get me wrong, there are pieces that i am willing to spend more money on. but as an overall rule, i don’t pay full price for anything. i love shopping places like discount stores, craigslist, and thrift stores. i guess it is in my blood. my mom is the same way. i remember my grandma used to shop all year round for christmas, just so that she could find the best deals around. we always used to laugh at the presents she got us, but we knew that she couldn’t resist a good deal. there is a rush i get when i find something i absolutely love and it is at an amazing price. i can’t explain it.
sunday, i was able to get away for a few hours with a dear girlfriend. it was a lovely afternoon. we hit a few stores, caught up and enjoyed some coffee. i wasn’t really looking for anything particular, but here are two finds that i found while we were out. i found both of them at t.j. maxx home goods. i love that place! i can always find fabulous things for less. oh, and t.j.maxx was my very first job ever. i got paid 4.10 an hour and i worked the home goods section. funny how things come full circle. but i digress.
i found this pillow on sale for $12.00. can you believe it? i was thinking about making a ruffle pillow myself, but i don’t even know if i could have bought the material for that much money. and can i just say that i LOVE it! look how it ties the curtains and the table together. the ruffle pillow i wanted from pier one was $40.00. so glad i found this fabulous find!
and look at this beautiful piece i found! guess how much? yeah, it was only $7.00. seriously loving it in my little vignette on my dining table. so see, you can find lovely accessories for less and not compromise on what you want. feel free to share a link to any fabulous finds you have found!
