gift tag tutorial
this last week i made my own gift tags for the first time. i wanted them to be something different from what you normally see in a gift tag. and i also wanted them to fit my brand. so i collaged and painted them, making them completely a girl and her brush. i am so happy with the results!
cardboard for template

papers for collaging
string, or twine
(first of all, there is probably a much easier way to make these tags, but this is how i did it.) i started off with a tag that had come from a piece of clothing for my template. but there are tons of free templates online that i found as well. i traced the template on a hard piece of cardboard and then cut it out. i wanted something sturdy that i could trace around. i then used the cardboard template to trace tags onto some orange cardstock paper. then simply cut out all of your tags and you have the base for your gift tags.
so this is where it gets fun. i started layering paint in white with my brayer. let dry. then i adhered pieces of paper with matte medium. be sure to give the paper a generous coat of matte medium on the bottom and top of the paper. let dry. i added even more dimension by stamping acrylic paint with bubble wrap and brushed some pink paint all around the edges. again let dry. then i stamped thank on the tags, added a hole with a hole punch and ran some twine through the holes.
repeat for the second side… or don’t. i also stamped my business name on the other side. i hope you have fun making these. i know they will look amazing on all of my packages for my business. but you could use them on presents for birthdays or for christmas.
